Job Title : Offshore installation and Hook-up Engineer/ Superintendent

Report to : Resident Offshore Installation Manager

Overseeing
the contractor installation engineering, preparation activities and
execution for jacket installation, topside deck float-over and hook-up.
Roles and Activities:
o
Responsible to Offshore Installation Manager for supervising the
contractor scope for jacket installation, topside float-over, flare and
bridge installation
o Monitoring contractor preparation activities
o
Ensuring contractor submits the required procedures and documentation,
carrying out review and comment to ensure compliance with project
requirements, specifications and guidelines
o Coordination between installation, construction, hook-up and commissioning
o Assistance with marine spread suitability inspections
o Organisation and participation in progress meetings with contractor in Ulsan and other site locations as required
o Oversee contractor’s hook-up materials management and verification systems
o Participate in resource planning for hook-up including contractor provision of accommodation vessel
o Supervise installation work on installation vessels

Hook-up responsibilities include
o Preparation of hook-up campaign
o Definition and recruitment of company hook-up supervision team
o Review and comment of all contractor hook-up procedures and drawings.
o
Preparation & coordination of hook-up activities together with the
construction & commissioning teams & Interface Coordinator.
o
Ensure all WPS, NDT, coating, pre-commissioning preparation activities
& qualifications are completed in good time prior to mobilization.
o Management of related authority issues such as radiography permits, HSE permits, use of chemicals
o
Management and coordination of contractor activities with respect to
logistics, materials supply (gases, bulks, consumables etc) and
personnel logistics during hook-up
o Ensures the implementation of project specifications and requirements.
o Ensure implementation of project OPERCOM and ICAPs requirements
o Verify the suitability of contractor’s suppliers and subcontractors
o Ensures efficient contractor planning of the work including preparation of job cards.
o Assistance with preparation of COMOPS/ SIMOPs dossiers & bridging documents as required.

Liaises with: HSE team, Construction Manager, Commissioning Manager, Interface Coordinator

Work location: Based in Ulsan with business trips to other location in Asia.. Offshore work during installation phases.

SSHE responsibilities:
o Promote safety good practice within his team and Contractors team.
o Ensure that HSE procedures are properly implemented.
o
Make HSE suggestions, report incidents, near misses, anomalies, unsafe
acts or conditions observed to SSHE, during onshore and offshore
operations.
o Stop work and proactively intervene when witness unsafe activities, conditions.
Professional Knowledge & Experience:
o Versatile engineer/ superintendent with jacket and float over experience
o Topside Hook-up experience
o Professional Experience: Min 15yrs
o Experience within project: Min 10yrs
o Valid BOSIET & HUET certificate

Report to : Resident Offshore Installation Manager
Liaises with : QPS Company site Representative, QPS Construction Manager, Interface Coordinator

The Offshore Coordinator – QPS will form part of the installation team based in Ulsan, but will be detached to QPS management and other site locations in Asia.
He will report to the Installation Manager and also liaise closely with the QPS Company Site Representative

Roles and Activities:
o Responsible to Offshore Installation Mgr for the scope associated with the installation of the QPS, Flare platform & associated bridges.
o Promotes implementation of safe working practices and project HSE requirements
o Monitors and obtain from QPS Contractor, all the procedures related to weighing, load-out, sea-fastening, transportation and installation of there respective packages.
o Seeks solutions for maintaining project schedule requirements
o Liaises closely with project team (QPS CSR, Installation Mgr, and Interface Coordinator) to ensure compatibility with other field and third party contractor activities
o Review and comment of all applicable contractor installation procedures.
o Coordination of company project specialists (survey/ positioning, welding, naval architect, diving specialist)
o Obtain all information required for approvals by third party bodies & in particular the Marine Warranty Surveyor.
o Organize meetings with contractor offshore teams to develop the work program & relevant procedures. Collects information and ensures that Company’s instructions are understood and implemented by the Contractor.
o In liaison with the Interface Manager, verifies any possibility of clashes and takes appropriate actions to optimize the GBS overall offshore schedule.
o Ensures implementation of project specifications and requirements in the contractor procedures.
o Verify the suitability of the vessels proposed by Contractors, verifies certificates and organize acceptance visits in line with marine Warranty Surveyor and Marine Superintendent.
o Prepares the offshore operations, elaborates the bridging documents, performs the selection of Company representative onboard the construction vessels (Company Rep, HSE engineer, Positioning, Soil and Pile driving, welding specialists) .
o Assists Offshore Installation Manager with respect to communications with Marine Authorities, PTT Marine Superintendent and existing operations personnel on site (WPS1).
o Assistance with preparation of the necessary COMOPS dossier, bridging documents.
o Assistance with preparation of all logistics procedures and equipment for people and material.
Coordination of the transfer of personnel and equipment onboard construction vessels upon their arrival on site.
SSHE responsibilities:
o Promote safety good practice within his team and Contractors team.
o Ensure that HSE procedures are properly implemented. In particular verify during vessels visits that all HSE material are in an acceptable condition.
o Make HSE suggestions, report incidents, near misses, anomalies, unsafe acts or conditions observed to SSHE, during onshore and offshore operations.
o Stop work and proactively intervene when witness unsafe activities, conditions.
Professional Knowledge & Experience:
o Experience in jacket and topside installation, heavy lift
o Experience of working in East Asia desirable
o Offshore installation (Jacket and Topsides): Min 5yrs
o Professional Experience (number of years) : Min 15yrs
o Experience within project : (number of years) : Min 10yrs
o Valid BOSIET & HUET certificate

• Indonesian nationals are preferred

• Strong command of the English language, with good oral and written communication skills
• Sound knowledge of both geology and geophysics with a focus on international exploration and offshore field developments
• Understanding of depositional systems, including both clastic and carbonate systems
• Ability to apply Petroleum Systems concepts is required
• Sound knowledge of geology and geophysics, with a focus on marine depositional systems, including lacustrine, shallow and deepwater environments, projects, data and mapping
• Proven prospect generator and mapping experience with an ability to develop and integrate into regional geological models
• Sound knowledge in facies identification and descriptions from core, cutting and petrophysical data
• Working knowledge of basin modeling and source rocks would be an asset
• Thorough understanding of well data/well log interpretation
• 3D and 2D seismic interpretation skills
• Ability to provide seismic interpretation and workstation capability
• Proficiency in a range of geoscience software including Kingdom, Openworks, Geographix or equivalents
• Strong leadership and management ingenuity with superior organizational skills

2010 ACYPL Young Political Leaders (YPL) Program

The United States – Indonesia Society invites applicants for the 2010 ACYPL Young Political Leaders (YPL) Program.

Delegates to the United States from Indonesia will participate in a two-week program designed to provide opportunities to study United States government as well as foster relations between and among the next generation of political leadership in Indonesia and the United States. The delegation will travel first to Washington, DC for a series of meetings with US federal government officials, then to two American states to discuss issues in local and state government. Throughout the program, there will be opportunities for open discussions among the delegates on their experiences with governance and its inherent challenges, on civic participation, international relations, and other topics selected by the delegates themselves.

All elements of the program in the United States, including travel, accommodations, meals, and cultural events will be covered by ACYPL. Transportation to the United States from Indonesia for this program will be covered by ACYPL. Other expenses such as phone calls, laundry, and other personal items will be the responsibility of the delegates.

Participation in the Program

All ACYPL programs incorporate the emerging political leadership (ages 25-40) of its partner countries, seeking to prepare tomorrow’s decision-makers to responsibly face important international issues. For this program, seven (7) will be chosen to participate (please see the Delegate Selection Guidelines for application information) . The participants will come from both local and national governments to allow for a variety of perspectives and to demonstrate that, to be effective, a spirit of cooperation must exist at all levels of government. Delegates will be selected to ensure a balance in political representation, geography, and gender within the delegation.

International students wishing to go for a Master at the Abbe School of Photonics can apply for a scholarship, which is granted in cooperation with partners from the German Optics & Photonics industry, the Federal Ministry of Education and Research and the County of Thuringia.

Scholarships include a stipend of 715 Euro per month, covering of university fees, free local transport and health insurance. In addition, a language course is reimbursed.

Scholarships are restricted to international students. For 2010/2011 a total amount of approx. 33 scholarships is available for these students.
